SANDY FRIEDLAND, LMT
Sandy Friedland, a Licensed Massage Therapist in private practice in her hometown, Miami Beach, Florida, taught BodyWork at Educating Hands School of Massage for 27 years. She is a creator of the new water modality MDMA, Multi-Dimensional Movement Arts®. Her approach is spiritual, holistic and eclectic with a specific focus on energetic flow, vibratory frequency and dynamic balancing. She “plays” holographically at a table … on the floor … in the water … using sound, light, oil, color, crystals, essences, balls, magnets, rollers, intention, movement, verbalization and visualization. Her work and teaching explores the mystery of the body and reflects a background in anthropology, philosophy, psychology and the wisdom of Cranial Sacral Therapy, Connective Tissue Unwinding, Polarity, Reflexology, Shiatsu and Oriental medicine.
Iris and Sandy co-created TouchAbilities — the Text, the Curriculum, the Teacher Training program and the Teacher Training Manual. They also designed and co-teach a BodyWork Mastery Course which specifically focuses on developing and refining a practitioner’s unique signature touch; and co-teach a Working Body Seminar which focuses on the dynamic mechanics of movement … the art of integrating posture, balance, direction, locomotion, angle, intention, stillness and strength. The ladies are contributing authors to the book: Principles and Practices of Manual Therapeutics, part of a series of medical guides that focuses on complementary and alternative medicine. They are featured on a Primal Pictures, LTD. DVD titled “3D Anatomy for Manual Therapies”, and have developed webinars for Cengage Learning, Inc.
